Well last night was my "off" night, my boyfriend and I went on a stroll through Target to pick up a few things. I am adamant on not buying any face wash that has harsh chemicals in it. Salicylic acid is the worst for your skin!!! So I bought my usual recommended face wash and grabbed a few things from the food dept to make my own masque!
I gathered the following ingredients:
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp lemon juice
"dash" of tumeric powder
"squirt" of Freeman's Superfruits "Detoxifying Clay Mask"
Honey is used as a moisturizer for your skin. It also helps keep the masque in place -- since the other ingredients are more liquidy. The lemon juice is a brightener -- be sure to only use a little because if not you will definitely dry out your skin! Lemon juice is good for oily skin, dab on your face with a cotton ball at night and rinse before going to bed! The tumeric powder, I've heard, helps open up your poors and is also good for those dark spots! Freeman's Superfruits Detoxifying Clay Mask is my go-to antioxident masque! I only used a little of this to help the masque set & to open up the poors a bit.
I kept it on for about 20 minutes. I even made my boyfriend try it out too (but shh! he'll kill me for saying this). I then rinsed the masque off with warm water and patted my face dry with a towel. My skin felt soooo smooth! The boy couldn't stop feeling his face either! ;-) And today, when I woke up to run errands, I felt vibrant. My skin was glowing. This masque is a definite YES in my book!
If you have oily skin, I would modify this a bit. The honey will definitely not hurt you, but maybe adding a bit more lemon juice will be best for you! For severely dry skin, only add a dash of the lemon juice!
My next homemade regimen will be trying out the benefits of Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil!
